it has been a few days already

ive noticed that it has been a few days already since i had actually posted something new. so i guess now is as good a time to write something...

--------------------------------

i particularly enjoy reading blogs. it allows us the reader a window to understand the person. how we write is very much like the thumbprint that we have; its unique to ours and in some ways it can identify us.

i remember a time when i asked a friend of mine in college to read my thesis which i had wrote with a partner. and she could easily tell which were the parts that i had written. she said that there are some words which i tend to overuse as well as how i tend to write things too simply and just not use too much of the terminology which could have been used. just thought about it...

going back, as i said. reading blogs is such a pasttime of mine actually. i remember something i read about. i was browsing through some of the latest books out in barnes & nobles, and one of the said books was entitled "maintaing a long-distance" (im not sure if thats the exact title, but thats pretty much the whole idea of it) out of curiousity i did browse through and one of the things it said, was that even though talking over the phone is great. conversing through email is very much just as important.

recalling the years that i spent apart with my fiancee, pretty much our interaction was pretty much through conversations and daily updates through email. yes we did talk to each other, but that would usually be an hour or so during the weekends. and maybe if necessary during the weekday. still, reading her emails and pretty much the reading what she went through the day or week, was really a great thing to read. i believe that in some ways you can tell a lot about the person by following their train of thought through the events that they have gone through. which made it rather weird that whenever we did get to see each other (which was only 2 visits on my part through the 3 years apart), never did i feel that i felt left out in her world. or that i didnt feel that i was a part of her life.

just like she said to me. she could tell that being here in new york has changed me a bit. and i told her likewise. but its not like it happened overnight, it was something that she saw through the stories and recollections i would share with her. and i also knew what she meant, as i would read through her emails sometimes i would pause cause you could easily perceive that she has changed as well.

--------------------------------

i guess thats why still enjoy emailing people even though i could easily chat with them as well. nothing can say more about a person that the stuff that they write on how their day may have been.

another weekend went by & some wedding plans

well back to my blog. i havent been blogging for the past few days. i guess i really have no good reason. just been a bit lazy to go post something. i guess nothing really interesting happened to even write about.

had a rather good weekend nonetheless. went to the gym and was able to fix something that was bugging me in my apartment. over-all it was still a rather modest yet productive weekend.

back in manila, frances attended the wedding of her cousin, and afterwards was able to be productive as well. right now, we are sort of leaning to having our reception the mandarin hotel. another option we were considering was a garden wedding at fernwood, but with the way things are, we are going with the hotel. another reason why i prefer the hotel is that in a garden wedding there won't be any A/C and i can sort of anticipate that i will be sweating even if barong ang suot ko.

as for the church, frances mentioned that she saw this nice church in makati. i havent seen in yet, but she'll be sending me some pics later on. bonus: it an air-conditioned church! hehehe =) as you can tell, having A/C is an important thing for me.

right now, that's the roughest part of the planning, we're anticipating that once we have a venue everything else will fall in place. oh by the way, i might have mentioned it, but we already have set a date. its going to be on july 8, 2006.

i guess that will be all for now. ill see if i have something to write again =)

its been a long time

well its been a long time since i last posted something on my blog. ive been a little busy housesitting for a friend of mine. it was fun, hanging out with the 3 dogs, 2 rabbits and one cat they had. though i did learn something, i really dont see myself owning a dog or cat!!! it wasn't a hassle taking care of them for a few days. but when i think of doing the same thing for more than a month, ill more than likely forget and ignore them. which would make me a rather negligent owner.

things have been rather quiet on my side of the world. i'll admit that in some ways im still caught up in a rut wherein i sometimes just dont do anything and let time pass me by.

im back in my own apartment and again in some ways, im back to square one fixing things up. leaving the apartment and coming back every so often to dump some stuff like laundry.

it seems that ill end up spending another day getting rid of some more stuff. hehehe!!! hope everyone else has been more productive than me. =)

what type of killer am i

seems like a very interesting character... i like! =)

Assassin

You are an
assassin.

That means you are a proffessional and do your
job without mixing any emotions in it. In your
life you have probably been hurt many times and
have gotten some mental scars. This results in
you being distant from people. Though many
think that you are evil, you are not. What you
really are is a person, trying to forget your
pain and past. You are the person who never
seems to care and that is why being an assassin
fits you good. Atleast, that's what people
think. Even if you don't care that much for
your victims, you still have the ability to
care and to generally feel. It is not lost,
just a little forgotten. In crowds you tend to
not get to noticed, and dress in black or other
discrete colours. You don't being in the
spotlight and wish people would just leave you
alone. But once you do get close to someone you
have a hard time letting go and get real down
if you loose him/her.

Main weapon: Sniper

us to keep out the sadness also keep out the
joy" -Jim Rohn
Facial expression: Narrowed eyes

my lightsaber!!!

Orange
Orange is your Lightsaber color.

Orange represents energy and enthusiasm. It also
symbolizes strength and endurance. People with
orange lightsabers are curious about life, and
the world around them. Fascination catches them
at every turn, and they are creative enough to
understand life's potential.

an old quote i found

"love without conditions may fail from time to time,
but love with conditions never had a chance."

since i was tagged....

since i was tagged in karla's tag, well papatulan ko. hehehe!!!

Total volume of music files on my computer:

i just checked and i have around 549 songs in mp3 format. though most likely that will still increase since im planning to copy some songs from my cd collection so that i can upload them on my ipod.

Last CD I bought:
oh, i remember! "the Best of Disney : 2 discs" in manila, its so much cheaper than here in the U.S.

Song playing right now:
nothing right now

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me:

there are in no particular order

Michael Jackson megamix : basically it's a 25 minute remix of all of Michael Jackson's great hits before he started all that crazy stuff to his face.

Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal by Boyfriends : i think its such a sweet song, even though its so simple since it only has a few lines which keep repeating itself. you could feel the affection in the song, in my opinion.

Stand By Me by Ben E. King : another great song which i don't think you can actually improve on. no remix or rendition of it would do it justice. not only that, but if you ever hear the first few notes start to play, you can't help but start to sing along.

Pilgrim's Theme (unfortunately i don't know who wrote the song) : i just think it delivers a great message. heard it again during a really down point in my life when i felt that i wasn't making progress and was in some ways, going through a big bout of self-pity.

Baby I Love Your Way by Big Mountain : favorite song of both franny and me! that should be a good enough explanation. =)

And I am tagging...:
everyone on my blog list!

june 4

can't believe it's been 4 years already since we became officially a couple! it was rather rough at start, can you imagine being together for only 15 days before having to work through a long-distance relationship for 3 whole years. for only roughly 42 days did we ever get to be physically next to each other.

we've gone through a lot and i'm glad that we're together until now. and obviously we're about to start a new phase in our lives. i really feel so fortunate to have the person i know i want to spend the rest of my life with (knowing of course that she feels the same. hehehe)

just wanted to share my happiness about our being together. hehehe

together for 4 years, and counting!!! =)
