finally done...

Franny and I are finally done with our Christmas shopping. Even though its just a few days away 'till Christmas, shopping wasn't that bad of an ordeal unlike previous years when it was really a dumb idea to even try going to the stores to get something.

Unlike previous years, I've been extremely tardy with the Christmas cards that I send out to friends and family. I hope they still make it to you, but I doubt it. It would be nice though if they still make it before New Year's day.

Oh, here are some more pictures that I took during the time my dad and bro were in town.

going around with my bro...

It was a nice few days having my dad and brother in town. Unfortunately for my brother, the weather was nice and warm which meant there wouldn't be any chance of snow. It's his first trip ever to the US and he listed seeing snow as his number 1 priority. Now he's in Florida for the next two weeks, and I doubt he'll get to achieve that goal there. He'll still have one more chance for it before he flies back to Manila since they'll be coming back sometime in mid-January for a few more days.

Here are some pictures during their short visit.

tomorrow they arrive!

I might not have mentioned this before, but my brother went to the US embassy last month to apply for a tourist visa. And we were very fortunate that he was given one! Thank you for everyone who prayed that he would be able to get one.

Well, he and my dad are arriving tomorrow at Newark 1:10pm. It will be a nice Christmas this year having the whole family together. The last time we were all together for Christmas was in 2002 when I flew in. Luckily for my dad, the weather has been quite mild, he really has a hard time in the cold weather. That's one of the main reasons why they decided to settle down in Florida.

I got to chat with my brother before he left and one of his goals was to experience snow. Too bad for him though, the weather for the next week will be nice and sunny aside from a few days of rain. Hopefully when he comes back this January, he gets to experience snow.

remember that kid who was an intruder...

A few posts ago I had written about a kid who Franny found coming out of our apartment. It seems that we weren't the only ones in our building complex who got victimized.

Franny and I had just gotten back from dinner and we were approached by our neighbors upstairs and they asked Franny about the kid that she saw last time. It seems that when one of the students upstairs got home, he saw the kid in his room looking around. When he asked what the hell she was doing there, she answered saying that she was looking for her friend. She was even trying to hide from the guy! She was then told to get or else the guy would call the cops.

Obviously it's a concern, since it seems that she has access to not only our apartment but to the other apartments as well. We changed all our locks already and we advised the other tenants to do so.

It seems that she isn't interested in stealing anything, but rather scoping out the contents of the various apartments. We'll just have to make sure that don't leave anything too important in our apartment when we fly out to Orlando for the holidays.
