celebrating...

It was my birthday last weekend and as is usually the case, I really didn't know how I wanted to celebrate it. In the end, Friday was spent having dinner with friends which was a lot of fun since almost everyone was able to join us at Sambuca. It was a nice italian restaurant which served family style so we just ordered a few items and just shared amongst ourselves.

The next day, was spent sleeping in till lunch time, which is a rarity now that I'm working (even if its a weekend I end up waking up around 9am). Franny and I then went to my Ninong's place in Wharton, NJ to meet up with some other relatives of mine who were on vacation.

Then in the evening we just stayed at home and watch some shows on tv and played some wii sports. It was a nice simple birthday celebration which (i ended up figuring out) to be what I really wanted. =)

NEW YORK - Three U.S. economists, one of them a 90-year-old professor emeritus from Minnesota, will share this year's Nobel prize in economics for their work on how people's knowledge and self-interest affect their behavior in the market or in social situations such as voting and labor negotiations.

Leonid Hurwicz, who lives in south Minneapolis, is the oldest winner ever of the Nobel, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said in their announcement on Monday.

His work — along with that of Eric S. Maskin and Roger B. Myerson, who both are 56 — led to a theory that plays a wide-ranging role in contemporary economics and political science, touching on areas as diverse as labor contract negotiations, auctions of government bonds, voting procedures and the structuring of insurance policies.

Franny had her ultrasound earlier today and we were fortunate that our baby was very cooperative since we were able to find out whether we'll be having a girl or boy...

it's gonna be a baby girl!!! woohoo!

Just wanted to share the latest news.

getting back into the habit...

Today I went back to the gym and decided to get back into the habit of working out. As is my habit, I check my weight before I head back to my apartment. Getting on the weighing scale confirmed something that I had known, that I had gained weight. It shocked me though to see how much I had gained!

Now I am making a vow to hit the gym at least 3 times a week. I have to get my weight down again. It was just so disappointing, given that I had managed to lose a lot of weight during the early summer months.

Immediate goal as before is to get my weight below 250lbs, then I guess long term would be to get it around 230lbs.
