a nice weekend & brokeback mountain
its been sometime now since i really had a great weekend. and this weekend has got to be one of the best i've had since the year started. looking at it, i really didnt get to do anything of importance aside from getting myself 2 new pairs of shoes for work along with some dress socks!
but i guess thats just it. i really didnt have to worry about anything over the weekend which made it so relaxing. if there was someone who was a bit stressed it was franny since she was preparing the week before for her comprehensives in macroecon. she took the compre saturday morning and afterwards we, along with our other classmates who took the comps, went down to Curry in a Hurry for lunch. it was rather nice lunch, though a rather delayed one since we got there around 2pm already.
after lunch, we really didnt feel like going home so we just ended up walking around and just window shopping, though as i mentioned i did get to buy 2 pairs pairs of shoes. dinner was more of a self-indulgence where we ended up going to KFC and all of sharing a bucket with sides of mashed potatoes, mac & cheese and coleslaw.
oh to end the day, franny and i watched brokeback mountain with another group of friends. it was a nice movie. though if there was something which shocked us more than anything else, was how things happened so suddenly. with just a pulling of the arm for a hug, they suddenly both get up and start doing the deed. it was a bit shocking since you really dont see it coming.
sunday, was another nice day to go out (not as nice as saturday but still nice enough to go walking). had lunch at Krystals with some friends we havent seen for sometime. and again we walked around doing some window shopping. then for Mass, i think i've heard one of the longest homilies ever. it was a short gospel reading, but the priest was able to extend his homily to 30 minutes! amazing! after the first few minutes i lost track with the message he wanted to impart on us.
sometimes its best to say things as short and as simply as possible! =) that was the weekend. hope the next weekend will be nice as well.
